Scenarios

Pre-loaded pig farm profit math.

Real Philippine setups — backyard, OFW-absentee, semi-commercial — with the peso figures worked out and the Profit Simulator pre-loaded. Open one, then adjust the assumptions to match your situation. You can change feed price, mortality, or market price on the fly and watch the profit move.

10 heads · backyard

Backyard Pig Farm — 10 Heads, First-Time Raiser

A first-time raiser with 10 commercial-hybrid piglets, 100% commercial feeds, and a small pen behind the house. This is the most common starter scenario in the Philippines, and the one most likely to go wrong.

20 heads · absentee owner

OFW Investor — 20 Pigs Managed by Family Back Home

You are working abroad, your kuya or pamangkin is on the ground, and you are wiring capital for 20 pigs. The math from the 10-pig backyard scenario does not transfer cleanly. Absentee management raises mortality, adds a worker salary, and introduces information lag that costs real money.

50 heads · semi-commercial

Semi-Commercial — 50 Heads, Hired Worker, Direct Feed

Fifty heads is where pig farming starts looking like a business instead of a hobby. You hire a full-time caretaker, you negotiate feed direct, you can afford biosecurity that brings mortality below 4%, and the per-head profit reflects all of that.

How the numbers are built

Every scenario uses 2026 Philippine peso figures. Feed prices come from current retail and direct-dealer ranges. Weaner prices reflect what multiplier farms in Luzon and Visayas were quoting as of May 2026. Mortality assumptions are deliberately honest — higher than DA promotional materials, lower than worst-case ASF zones — and we say what the assumption is on each page.

None of these are financial advice. They are reference setups to help you build your own. See the calculator disclaimer for the limits.
