Baboy PH ("Baboy PH", "we", "us", or "our") operates a pig farming information website that publishes guides, breed data, farming calculators, and educational content for Filipino pig farmers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in accordance with Republic Act No. 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012 ("DPA"), its Implementing Rules and Regulations ("IRR"), and National Privacy Commission ("NPC") Circular No. 16-03.

  • Analytics data: We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated website usage data such as page views, referral sources, and general geographic region. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.

Under Section 12 of the DPA, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interest (Section 12(f)): We collect anonymous analytics data to understand how visitors use our website and to improve our content. We use rate limiting to prevent abuse.
  • Legal obligation (Section 12(c)): We may process data to comply with Philippine law, including responding to lawful requests from the NPC, courts, or law enforcement authorities.

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Vercel Analytics is cookie-free and privacy-friendly. The only cookies that may be set are:

  • Essential technical cookies: Standard cookies that may be set by our hosting provider for basic website functionality (e.g., CSRF protection).

We explicitly do NOT use:

  • Analytics cookies or tracking scripts (no Google Analytics, no Hotjar, etc.)

After the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymized so that it can no longer be associated with you.

Under Sections 16 through 18 of the DPA, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to be informed (Section 16(a)): You have the right to know what personal data we collect, how it is used, and with whom it is shared. This Privacy Policy fulfills that obligation.
  • Right to access (Section 16(c)): You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to correction (Section 16(d)): You may request correction of inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated personal information.
  • Right to erasure or blocking (Section 16(e)): You may request deletion or blocking of your personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or when you withdraw consent.
  • Right to data portability (Section 18): You may request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

9. Data Breach Notification

In accordance with Section 20(f) of the DPA and NPC Circular No. 16-03, in the event of a personal data breach that is likely to cause harm to affected data subjects:

  • We will notify the National Privacy Commission (NPC) within seventy-two (72) hours of becoming aware of the breach.
  • We will notify affected individuals within seventy-two (72) hours of becoming aware of the breach, describing the nature of the breach, the data involved, and the measures taken to address it.
  • We will take immediate steps to contain the breach, assess its scope, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

The 72-hour notification period begins from the time we become aware of the breach. Discovery of a breach may occur after the actual breach event.

10. Children's Privacy

Our website is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. Under the DPA, the processing of personal data of minors requires the consent of a parent or guardian. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor without appropriate consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information.

11. International Data Transfers

Some of the third-party service providers we use (such as web hosting and email delivery services) may store or process data on servers located outside the Philippines. In such cases, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with the requirements of the DPA for cross-border data transfers, including that such providers maintain adequate levels of data protection.

Your personal data will not be transferred to any country or territory that does not provide an adequate level of data protection without appropriate contractual or organizational safeguards.
