Lechon Cost and Margin Calculator
What one whole-pig lechon costs to make: the pig, the fuel, the cook, the slaughter fee and the delivery. Cost per head and per cooked kilo, the margin at your price, and the price that breaks even.
Live, dressed or cooked? A price list that says "20 kg lechon" can mean any of the three, and the difference is about double. This calculator takes the live weight and turns it into cooked kilos with the yield you give it. Selling per cooked kilo divides by those cooked kilos, not by the live weight.
The pig is priced at liveweight whether you bought it or raised it: a pig you raised could have been sold live instead, so that is what roasting it costs you. Setup (the pit, a rotisserie motor, permits) is not in here; spread it over the lechon you expect to sell and add it to transport if you want it counted. Read full disclaimer .
Where the defaults come from
- Live weight 28 kg, cooked yield 46% and ₱16,500 a head: Boarcher Cebu Lechon price list, Quezon City, prices as of 7 October 2026. Jumbo: 26–30 kg live, 12–14 kg cooked (estimate), ₱16,500. Read 17 October 2026.
- Charcoal ₱500 a sack and LPG ₱1,600 an 11 kg tank: Philstar, "Charcoal demand climbs as LPG prices double", 19 April 2026. A Pasay public market vendor raised a sack of charcoal from ₱450 to ₱500; an 11 kg LPG cylinder doubled from about ₱800 to ₱1,600.
- Liveweight price: the newest month of PSA's Pig farmgate price, backyard farms (PSA), Jun 2026, from this site's archive, with the DA's August 2026 figure of ₱150/kg beside it as a second scenario. The two disagree and are not averaged.
- Fuel quantity, labour, spices, stuffing, slaughter fee and transport have no published figure I could cite, so they open blank and the calculator will not run until you fill them in.
