Feed Cost per Kilo of Gain
Feed price times FCR is what a kilo of pig costs you. Set it against what a kilo sells for and you have the only number that decides whether this year worked.
The farmgate field starts at whatever PSA last published, with the month beside it — but a
figure from a national survey is not what your buyer is offering you this week. Type over
it. The one input worth being careful about is the feed price: a sack is 50 kg, and reading
₱1,850 as a per-kilo price is an error of fifty times that produces a completely believable
wrong answer.
